Research Assistants for Post-Secondary Education Institutions

Program Description

In this program, students will focus on all of the major aspects of the research process including research design, information retrieval and evaluation, data collection, analysis and interpretation, and the preparation and presentation of research findings. The program is designed to introduce learners to the rigors of academic research in Canadian post-secondary institutions. 

Gradutes of the program may find employment in the research field with job titles such as: 

  •  College lab assistant 
  • Post-secondary research assistant 
  • University laboratory assistant

Mature student status

High school graduate

English Language Proficiency Admission Requirements

English proficiency interview

Grade 10 English with a C or higher

In-class instruction: 100% hours of instruction delivered in a classroom or other setting, where instructors share the same physical space as students.

Distance education: 100% hours of instruction, excluding work experience hours, if applicable, delivered remotely from a BC location.

 Synchronous: Meaning students attend classes virtually in ‘real time’ with instructors and classmates.
